Susan Smolinske, PharmD, FACCT, DABAT

Susan Smolinske, PharmD, FACCT, DABAT is a clinical toxicologist, currently teaching as adjunct Professor at the University of New Mexico. Dr. Smolinske completed her Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy at the University of Florida in Gainesville and PharmD at Idaho State University. Dr. Smolinske was the Director of the New Mexico Poison Center and Professor at the College of Pharmacy for 10 years, and Managing Director of the Michigan Poison Center for 20 years. She also worked as an editor for Micromedex for 14 years. She is Board Certified in Applied Toxicology.

Dr. Smolinske has served as an editorial lead for the webPOISONCONTROL project since its inception. She has authored nearly 2000 ingredient algorithms, entered more than 62,000 substances, and linked more than 500,000 barcodes. She also participates in quality assurance, auditing, and product updating.

Susan has over 100 peer-reviewed publications and book chapters, and has written two textbooks on toxicology subjects. Her research interests include medical toxicology, plant and mushroom toxicology, natural substances of abuse, and envenomations. She lives in Placitas, New Mexico with her husband. She enjoys hiking and travel.
